Origin
For years, my passion for interior design was confined to rental spaces and their restrictions but when I first stepped into a home I could finally call my own, I realized something. I was staring at a blank canvas. I could do anything to this home. I could even paint my house a different color. Something I’ve never even thought of before.
Soon, I started seeing potential everywhere I went. It became somewhat of an incontrollable habit to design any space I walked into, in my head. Around me, I heard many conversing about wanting to renovate their own spaces but not knowing where to start. I thought, perhaps I can help those who find the process difficult. That is how the Blue Bird Home Guides were born. My hope is that they simplify your journey and inspire you to get started.
Our Name
When I moved into my new home, I brought with me a dresser that my mother had refurbished. For this dresser, she molded a bird from clay, pressed it onto the top drawer, and painted it blue.
One evening as the sun was setting, I caught a sight of it and snapped a picture. Rays of sunshine had landed on that blue bird through the window and it looked beautiful. The walls around it, however, were completely bare and the room felt bland but still; The little blue bird with its rays of sunshine, gave the room potential.
Much later I learned that blue birds are actually universal symbols of happiness, hope, and new beginnings. So, when it came to naming this brand, I thought back to this dresser and found my answer.
